The essence of care lies in meaningful encounters—both between people and between people and art. Visual Dialogues brings this into focus: we leverage our extensive expertise in relational aesthetics and constructivist art education to shape encounters into truly caring and inclusive experiences.
This project encompasses a cluster of activities, continuously developed within our growing network of partners across Flanders and Brussels. On one hand, we develop and facilitate art encounters for diverse contexts and audiences. On the other hand, we offer training, exchange programs, and workshops focused on encounter-based and dialogical techniques.
These programs not only foster aesthetic development and a deeper appreciation for art, but also sharpen attentive observation, active listening, and respect; support the ability to deal with ambiguity; cultivate empathy and connection; and enhance self-reflection and awareness.
In this way, we believe Visual Dialogues offers small but essential building blocks for a more empathetic, inclusive, and caring society.
